A Happy christmas to all my friends

I realise that I haven't written for a good few weeks but I have been very busy finishing my version of an 18th Century waistcoat which is to accompany my talk at the Castle Museum next month. The quilting took a very long time (I have been at it since July) and then I had quite a few problems when I came to make it up. However, all is well now and it is finished (bar the handmade buttons which can wait until later) and is proudly displayed on my new tailor's dummy which my husband has bought for me. If you are interested in seeing the finished result plus many other items, you might like to come along to the talk ' A True Quilter' on 21 January 2006 at 2.00 p.m. at the Town Close Auditorium, Castle Museum, Norwich. Tickets are £3.00 and may be obtained at the door or by phoning Jean Smith on 01603 712193.

My last workshop for a while at Wroxham Barns will be next Tuesday and although it will be very sad not to be going over there on a regular basis, I am beginning to appreciate the freedom I now have. My work has improved no end and the ideas are flowing freely however, will I ever have the time to finish all of them in the future? I am sure that I will still be popping over to the shop on a regular basis for all those 'must haves' and do hope that I shall bump into one or two of you then. However, please don't stop getting in touch if you want to discuss anything either by phone or email - it is always lovely to hear from you.

There was a very enoyable reunion between the members of the very first Block of the Month class at Jackie Pestall's house back in October. Jackie very kindly allowed us to have the run of her lovely house and put on a fabulous lunch which we all enjoyed enormously. Eventually, when we stopped talking, we had a quick show and tell and then home with the promise that we would meet up again in the new year.

I do hope that many of you will understand that I have no phone numbers or addresses for you so will find it impossible to send you cards this year. I am therefore hoping that you will accept my very good wishes and love in the format of this blog and a very happy quilting year to look forward to.

Happy Christmas,

Jacquie
